寮厦社区位于广东省东莞市厚街镇东北部，东面是汀山社区，北面连着陈屋社区，西面隔着三屯与厚街两社区，南面为河田社区；面积约2.5平方千米。社区于2011年挂牌成为社区居委会，此前为村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
相传元泰定二年（1325年），河田方氏的第四代子孙来到此地种菜为生，起初搭茅寮居住，因而得名「寮厦」。方姓仍是社区中人数最多的姓氏，其次为伦、陈、尹、冯、吴等。[1]
民国时期此地属河田乡。新中国成立后，1957年并入厚街大乡，次年归厚街公社，1983年9月归厚街区，1987年4月划入厚街镇。1987年起称管理区，1999年定为村，2011年改为社区居委会，小组的行政级别同时取消。[1]
经济[edit]
过去以农业为主，主产水稻、甘蔗、蔬菜、荔枝、龙眼与芒果。1980年，社区开办了第一家来料加工厂，为一间毛绒厂。此后外资工厂陆续出现，商业随之兴旺。[1]
如今社区内有农贸市场一个，厂房企业21间，鞋城数家，住宅小区五个，学校与幼儿园六所。[1]
名胜[edit]
福神岗公园位于寮厦社区彩云路，占地约30万平方米，2004年落成开放，以仿明清古建筑为主，园内有万福阁。[2]
