博涌社区位于虎门镇，村落由1949年设立的博涌乡发展而来。人民公社时期曾称博涌大队，此后经过管理区与行政村阶段，才改为社区居委会。[1]
外来常住人口约12.6万人，户籍人口为8196人（2024年）。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年设博涌乡，属东莞县第六区。人民公社化后，此地成为博涌大队，直属虎门人民公社。1983年，大队改为乡一级的博涌乡，划入虎门区。[1]
1987年改为区划，下设卢屋、王屋、博美、社岗四个管理区，归虎门镇。1999年管理区取消，归并为博涌行政村，村委会直隶虎门镇政府。2005年转为社区居委会。[1]
