上角社区处于长安镇西端，东侧紧挨厦边社区，西侧与北侧和虎门镇的社区接壤，面积约2.92平方千米。[1]

据东莞市人民政府门户网站，社区常住人口约4.5万人，其中户籍人口1605人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1949年前此地属虎门南宁乡第17保。1952年，上角与上沙、厦岗、厦边同列于沙岗乡；1958年公社化，沙岗乡的此处改为厦岗大队。1962年，厦边与上角合为厦边大队；1976年，上角独立设大队。1983年大队改为上角乡。[2]

经济与社会[edit]

据东莞市人民政府门户网站，2017年以来，社区每年集体经济总收入与纯收入均超过一亿元。社区建有党群服务中心办事大厅和新时代文明实践站，并完成新村天然气工程。[1]
