厦岗社区在长安镇西南部，靠近滨海湾新区，省道S122线与沿江高速S3线穿境而过，辖区面积约8.7平方千米。[1]

社区下辖南坊、西坊、北坊、隆盛四个居民小组，以「螺文化」为特色文化品牌。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，南宋咸淳年间（1265年至1274年），何、邓两姓村民在此立村，名为下岗。到明洪武二十一年（1388年），麦南望由茶山迁入，地名改称厦路岗。清末民初又变作夏岗，1949年定为现名。[2]

1952年并入沙岗乡（同乡另有上沙、上角、厦边）；1958年公社化时，此处改为厦岗大队；1983年大队改为厦岗乡。[2]

革命旧址[edit]

博雅地名网记载，厦岗农民协会成立于1925年4月22日，其会址设在爱兰祖祠堂。该祠堂因年久失修成为危房，于2007年被拆除。[3]

据东莞市人民政府门户网站，社区以「红色螺号」为党建品牌，并推出特色文化品牌「螺文化」，发行季刊《和谐》和年刊《厦岗年鉴》，并编印首本族谱《厦岗麦氏族谱》。[1]

荣誉[edit]

社区先后获评「广东省乡村治理示范社区」「广东省民主法治示范社区」「东莞市特色精品示范社区」，2020年以来连续五年获长安镇工作优秀社区称号。[1]
