长盛社区位于长安镇中心区，是镇下辖的三个新型社区之一，前身为1984年成立的长安居民委员会。[1]

社区于2005年改称长盛社区居民委员会，2009年依照市、镇文件改组为新型社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1998年改制后，此地设居民委员会，下辖长盛、莲峰、中兴、长青四个居民小区。2005年起，该居委会以长盛社区居委会之名运作至今。[2]

社区东靠咸西社区，南临锦厦社区，西与新安社区接壤，北与大岭山镇为邻。[1]

两份资料对辖区面积的记载不同：东莞市人民政府门户网站为约4.8平方千米，博雅地名网为约8.5平方千米。[1][2]

据博雅地名网，社区在2009年改组为新型居委会，此后辖有7个居民小组。[2]

社区曾获广东省「六好」平安和谐社区称号，并获东莞市文明社区、东莞市平安社区称号，以及东莞市综合治理先进单位称号。[1]
