大片美村距大岭山镇人民政府约3公里（在其西南方向），东面与龙江村、矮岭冚村相接，南面连着大岭村，西靠金鸡咀水库，北面与百花洞村、太公岭村为邻[1]。辖区总面积3.35平方千米，户籍人口1278人，常住人口约1.23万人[1]。

村子紧邻大岭山森林公园，大岭山大道由东至西横穿，厚大路由南至北贯通，东侧临近莞长路[1]。村内绿化率约40%，人均绿地981平方米[1]。村委会办公楼、综合服务活动中心、自产自销摆卖区、文化广场、休闲公园、垃圾收集站和公厕一应俱全[1]。
