下高田村位于大岭山镇政府驻地西北方约3.5公里，辖区总面积0.5平方千米，建成区约0.2平方千米[1]。村内没有村民小组，属村一级经济[1]。

村名与迁入[edit]

据镇政府网站，清光绪年间（1875年至1908年），蔡姓一支从樟木头官仓村迁到连平下高田定居。1959年，同沙水库建设使村中3个生产队里的两个，共23户160人搬到现址（大地）另建新村，组成独立行政村，仍沿用「下高田」之名[1]。

另一种记述[edit]

博雅地名网的历史沿革则说，1950年下高田归连平乡，1959年划入大地大队，1979年从大地大队独立出来，成为下高田大队；1983年设乡，1986年为管理区，1999年改成村民委员会[2]。两种说法在1959年以后的建制上不同，本文并存。

村内有企业42家，规模以上企业1家，党员42人，设3个党支部[1]。2024年，村子经济总收入1317万元，盈余1005万元，每人分红0.92万元；固定资产以外的总资产为12142万元，另有负债2171万元[1]。
