连平村位于大岭山镇西北部，107国道横贯东西，连马公路及其延长线纵贯南北，全村总面积7.17平方千米[1]。村辖计岭、畔山、新屋场、连平、上高田、下高田与大石板七个自然村，以客家文化为主，是大岭山最大的客家村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，连平村旧名镰平。1950年设连平乡，隶属东莞县第二区，辖17个自然村[2]。1958年公社化后改为连平大队，归寮步公社；1961年大岭山公社设立，此地仍为连平大队，下辖7个生产队[2]。1983年设乡，1986年成为管理区，1999年撤区改村，称连平村民委员会[2]。
人口与经济[edit]
村内有户籍1379户，户籍人口3843人，其中计岭1155人，畔山559人，上高田740人，连平圩584人；常住人口共15853人，外来人口逾2万[1]。
村内工业企业合计185家，其中规模以上的有12家[1]。2024年，村组两级总收入8120万元，经营总支出1743万元，纯收入6376万元，总资产87727万元[1]。
荣誉[edit]
村子获得「广东省卫生村」「东莞市文明标兵村」「东莞市文化先进村」「东莞市先进基层党组织」等称号[3]，2011年被评为「省文明村」[1]。
