石潭埔社区在塘厦镇东部，离镇中心区很近。东深公路、塘清路和环市路都从境内经过，交通条件较好。社区面积6.8平方千米，分为8个居民小组，其中包括大迳、青云岭和桥贝三个自然村[1]。
农田与公园[edit]
社区划定的农田保护区有1227亩，大部分在桥贝村，青云岭村与大迳村合计有270多亩[1]。社区与镇政府合作修建了崖山公园，占地约12万平方米，内有广场和体育场[1]。
崖山碉堡建在崖山公园山顶，建于1943年，属近现代重要史迹[2]。
文化[edit]
麒麟武术团是社区的传统武术组织，2010年7月挂牌，计划每年为青少年开办免费暑期班[1]。
