新市社区是广东省东莞市黄江镇下辖的社区，位于镇的中心地区。东面是宝山社区，南面是北岸社区，北面是田美社区，西面与大朗镇的仙村相接。[3]

镇政府网站所载，社区面积约1.6平方千米，统计至2023年时户籍居民逾二万九千人，外来的流动人口有三万多。博雅地名网所记面积为1.8平方千米，人口数字则是2011年的旧数。[3][1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1992年11月9日挂牌的新市管理区，承接了从居民管理区分出的国营与镇办单位，以及集镇上自理口粮的人员的户口；墟镇与镇政府征地范围内的治安、户籍和行政事务也归其管理。[3] 博雅地名网则将它的成立记在1993年，称是从居民管理区划分而来。[1]

1999年，新市管理区改为黄江居民委员会；2005年，居委会撤销，改称新市社区居民委员会。[1][3]

2011年8月，社区成立政务服务中心；2016年11月改称公共服务中心，2018年12月再改称党群服务中心。[3]

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网所载的2011年数字为户籍2205户、6512人，另有“新莞人”一万六千余人，当年社区总收入333万元。[2]

镇政府网站所载2023年的数字为户籍居民29476人、流动人口约3.3万人，社区党委下辖4个党支部，共有党员127人。[3] 两处户籍数字相差悬殊，原因未见说明。[2][3]

荣誉[edit]

2023年4月，新市社区列入2022年广东省乡村治理示范村的创建单位名单。[1]

镇政府网站列出的荣誉有广东省文明镇优秀社区、东莞市平安社区、东莞市文明社区、绿色社区等。[3]
