水平村位于大朗镇南部，毗邻松山湖，南与深圳市宝安区接壤，辖区总面积约7平方千米[1][2]。政府网概况所载，户籍约2460人，常住则约七万人[1]。村内有虎岗高速公路、环莞快速路三期和科学城大道经过，松水路贯穿全村[1]。

革命历史[edit]

水平是革命游击老区，村内建有革命烈士纪念碑。抗战期间，东江纵队和游击队曾在此设立交通情报站，并在水平东山一带与敌人激战[1]。

荔枝与特色农产品[edit]

政府网概况称，水平自宋末元初起已盛产荔枝。村民曾培育矮化荔枝树苗，销往全国各地。村内现有百年荔枝古树五百多棵，并建成水平村古荔公园[1]。

水平鹅饭、水平碌鹅等本地美食驰名远近，其中部分美食名称获得国家商标注册[1]。

科研与产业[edit]

博雅地名网收录的2008年前后资料载，中国散裂中子源项目落户水平村一带，计划占地一千亩，投资额二十亿元，2008年9月获国家发改委批准立项[2]。政府网概况称，村内还招引了一批高新科技企业，全村工贸企业200多家，其中规模以上和高新技术企业36家[1]。
