长富社区位于大朗镇中心区核心地段，辖区面积约1.5平方千米，主要管辖碧水天源、金域蓝湾、明上居、美好家园等九个商住楼盘[1][2]。社区成立于2008年，政府网概况称为2008年6月，博雅地名网与百度百科载为2008年3月，两者相差一个月[1][2][3]。

政府网概况称，社区已不再承担经济管理，工作重心放在社会服务与治理上，属于有别于传统社区的现代新型社区。治理上推行“一核多元”模式，纵向设党总支领导，横向设2个楼盘党支部和6个功能型党支部[1]。

全社区分为六个网格片，各由一名两委干部任网格长。在8个楼盘建立了小区协商议事厅，并设有人大代表工作站[1]。
