百度百科载，明代时屏山一带属东莞县文顺乡第三都。截至2022年3月，社区户籍人口639人，百度百科面积写作2.2平方千米，与其他资料不同[3]。

政府网概况称，社区紧靠中国散裂中子源、松山湖材料实验室两个重点高新科技项目，以及香港城市大学（东莞）校区；常虎高速的松山湖出口就在附近[1]。
