金河社区是东莞市樟木头镇偏远一侧的社区，位于莞惠公路旁，辖区面积14平方千米，由8个居民小组组成。社区是观音绿荔枝的原产地和核心产区，森林覆盖率为全镇之最。[1]

概况[edit]

金河社区距G1523甬莞高速赤山入口约3.5公里，公交线路穿过辖区。社区由大坑、沙湖、沙元、坭坑、上南、下南、古坑、竹排8个居民小组组成，户籍人口2161人，非户籍人口近2万人。辖区管辖企业121间，另有小作坊358间，商铺382间，以及大中型商场3间和农贸市场1个。[1]

自然环境[edit]

辖区四面皆山，森林覆盖率达76.8%，居全镇首位。九洞森林公园位于社区一带，西侧靠国家级观音山森林公园；区内还有簕竹排水库和上南水库。[1]

文化遗产[edit]

古坑传统客家民居群始建于19世纪初；古坑蔡氏家祠建于民国十年（1921年），维金蔡公祠建于民国初年。社区有5个省级革命老区自然村，以及李明烈士墓、蔡子培故居、榕树头革命遗址。社区有国家三级保护古树7棵，其中沙元村的一棵高山榕树龄超过200年。[1]

观音绿荔枝[edit]

观音绿荔枝已有100多年的种植历史，社区尚存2棵观音绿母树。2024年4月，社区建成观音绿荔枝种质资源保护圃；同年6月，观音绿母树被评为东莞名树。观音绿曾在东莞市首届金荔品评大赛上获金荔奖一等奖，并经省级审定，被定为品质特优的新品种。[1]

荣誉[edit]

社区先后获得「广东省卫生村」「广东省六好平安和谐社区」「广东省宜居社区」「广东省乡村治理示范社区」「东莞市先进基层党组织」等称号。[1]
