泰园社区位于东莞市谢岗镇中心区，是镇内仅有的一个社区，镇政府也设在这里。社区北接省道357线与广梅汕铁路，南临常惠高速，是东莞连通惠州的交通要道。社区的前身为1984年挂牌成立的墟镇居民委员会，2003年改称泰园社区。辖区面积约2.8平方千米，常住人口约1.6万人，下辖一个村民小组。[1][2][3]
地理环境[edit]
泰园社区东面与谢山村相邻，南面与五星村交界，西面和北面与谢岗村毗邻。地形不规则，东西长约2200米，南北宽约1400米。镇政府网站记其总面积为2.8平方千米，约占谢岗镇总面积的3%。百度百科则记作约3平方千米。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
社区的前身可追溯到1958年，当时樟木头人民公社在赤头岭一带办起一个农场，称为谢岗农场。1961年谢岗公社成立之后，墟镇随之设立，把非农业户口者与机关、事业单位的人员都划入墟镇统一管理。[1]
1983年8月，墟镇同谢山村、新青村合为一体，设立墟镇人民政府，归谢岗区公所管。1984年4月25日起挂牌办公，址在谢岗振兴大道125号。2003年7月，墟镇居民委员会改称泰园社区居民委员会。[1][2]
社区立村最早的是新青村，1969年改称新青队，1979年从赤头岭迁到现在的乌梅岭。[1]
人口与姓氏[edit]
2022年，社区户籍人口的姓氏共162个，其中谢姓413人，罗姓349人，其余以黄、张、赵、朱等为多。户籍姓氏中包括招干入户、新莞人积分入户和条件入户的人员。博雅地名网记社区户籍人口3316人，新莞人7854人。[1][2]
经济与交通[edit]
社区地处镇中心区，谢常公路与莞樟公路穿过辖区，临近潮莞高速，依托铁路与高速路网形成商贸集聚。[2]这里现有三来一补、三资和民营企业超过一百家，个体工商户逾千户。[3]
社区的基础设施包括智能充电亭、垃圾分类示范点，以及改造后的沥青道路网络。[3]
教育[edit]
1984年墟镇只有一所瓦房小学。1989年它更名为谢岗中心小学，镇里当年拨款一百八十万元建新校舍，次年迁至光明南路。同年，谢岗中心幼儿园、小太阳幼儿园和同心幼儿园相继成立。至2022年7月，社区内共有幼儿园2所。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2003年以来，社区陆续获得东莞市的计划生育达标合格村、平安社区、家庭教育先进集体等荣誉，2009年又被评为市容环境优美村。博雅地名网另记，社区曾获东莞市宜居社区、综合减灾示范社区等称号，以及广东省卫生村称号。[2]2023年，社区入选「广东省最美志愿服务社区」与「交通安全文明示范社区」。[3]
