张坑村位于横沥镇中心西北面，广深铁路穿过辖区中心，毗邻茶山镇。全村行政区域面积约1.3平方千米，行政区由一个自然村组成。[1]

村内常住人口约4000人，其中户籍773人，277户。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

张坑村建于元末明初，至今约七百年。约1320年，先祖后裔由篁村迁来此地，取名云坑；1949年后改名张坑。[2]

1953年，张坑与石涌、甲坑合组石坑乡。此后，村里1954年有了农业合作社，1958年并入人民公社。1960年，张坑与罗屋合为张罗大队；1963年又与石涌合并入石坑大队，1977年才独立成张坑大队。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的张氏宗祠是镇政府规划文件列出的不可移动文物之一。村里还建有张坑村史馆和花卉超市，4个口袋公园连成一条旅游路线。[1][3]

荣誉[edit]

村先后获评「广东省卫生村」「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」「东莞市文明标兵村」等荣誉称号。[1]
