全村常住人口约4500人，户籍1367人，外来人口3000多人。村内有工厂企业97家，主要为电子、五金、模具。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，月塘村于明代中期立村。[2]

1953年，山厦、月塘、新四合组月山乡；1958年起为月塘生产大队；1959年至1961年办过国营农场；1983年设月塘乡，1987年改设管理区，1999年才成为村委会。[2]

经济[edit]

近年村里在镇政府支持下探索「安置用房+商铺收租+集体产业」的整村统筹路径，涉及拆除新建范围约640.71亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村先后获得「东莞市文明村」「美丽宜居村」等荣誉。[1]
