上截村在企石镇中心地带，东平大道与企桥路在此交汇，附近有东部快速路，离东莞市中心区坐车约半小时。村域面积约0.96平方千米，位于联兴工业园区之内。[1]

村里居住着约1068名常住人员，另有约1040名暂住人员。2019年9月，村庄在2018年广东省民主法治示范村的评选中获得入榜资格。[1]

村内集体厂房面积达9万多平方米。已经建好的有文化广场、宴席楼和百货商场，公园、综合市场和文化娱乐中心尚在筹建。[1]
