宝石社区在企石镇中心，位于东江南岸，是镇内人口与商业活动最集中的地方之一。社区1962年建立居民委员会，2005年改为社区，名称定为宝石社区。[1]

社区占地约2.8平方千米，户籍1090户，常住人口4716人，外来流动人口估计约7000人。社区内有经营塑胶、丝花、五金、纺织、电器和建材的店铺。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，企石圩改为生产大队，隶属企石人民公社。此后镇政府几经设立与撤销，1985年重新设立，1988年改为企石居民管理区，1991年称居民委员会。[1]

社区原名企石镇企石居民委员会，2005年定名宝石社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]
