官桥滘社区位于东莞市万江街道北部，依偎在东江南支流的中下游一段，东侧与胜利社区的龙湾毗邻，隔河与曲海社区相望，南靠简沙洲。社区名字来自村中的一座桥。[1]
地名由来[edit]
博雅地名网称，村子建于清道光八年（1828年），原名始塘。一位官员在清咸丰十年（1860年）因公路过此地，恰逢村里建桥，村民便把村名改作官桥滘。同一页面另有说法，称村子立于清康熙年间，两说未定，此处并录。[1]
行政沿革[edit]
新中国成立前，村属坝螺乡；1951年此地设立乡政府，归于胜利乡之下。1987年自胜利分离，另立官桥滘管理区；之后改为村委会，于2005年定名为社区居委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
进入2022年，社区被省乡村振兴部门列为「广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建对象，所列年度为2021年。2019年9月，社区获评2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
