新谷涌社区位于东莞市万江街道西端，东边连着共联社区，南边到东江支流崩口河段，北边靠新村。社区以陈姓居民为主，内部分上、下两个村民小组。[1]

博雅地名网称，此村是一个较大的自然村，为便于管理，以村中市场为界划分为上、下两个小组。社区设有党支部和居委会，党员48人，居民564户，人口2018人（未注统计年份），居民中陈姓约占99%。[1]
交通与荣誉[edit]
村中有上村大道南北贯通，五环路、泰新路与万道路在此交汇，东江支流与新村河分列南北两端。2019年9月，社区获评2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
