共联社区位于东莞市万江街道西部，处在四环路与五环路之间，北有泰新公路，南有新万道公路，公路围成井字形，交通便利。社区名字源于当年几个村子合组农业合作社的做法。[1]
地名由来[edit]
博雅地名网称，当年共联村与共和村等村组成高级农业合作社，取「共同联合、搞好生产」之意，定名为共联，此后大队、村委会直至社区都沿用此名。[1]
行政沿革[edit]
社区的前身先后经历乡、大队、乡、管理区和村委会等阶段，1953年设共联乡人民政府，2005年定名为社区居委会。[1]
人物与旧居[edit]
社区出过一位名叫古道的人物，别名锦榕，生年为1919年，1938年加入中国共产党。他的旧居位于古屋村，如今也被列为文化旅游点。[1][2]
