曲海社区位于东莞市万江街道中部，东江南支流从村前流过，东南隔江与坝头、胜利两社区相望，西与莲子村接壤，东与金泰社区相连。社区名字来自村内纵横的河道。[1]
地名与历史[edit]
博雅地名网称，村子于明末清初立村，始祖自福建迁来，原名新宁基。因东江南支流绕村而过，村内河道大大小小、弯弯曲曲，遂改名曲海，意为弯曲的海。村中以苏姓为多，约占总人口的八成。[1]
1960年，曲海从金泰大队中分出，设大队；1961年又并回金泰大队。1991年再次分出，设立曲海管理区。1999年改为曲海村委会，2005年定名为曲海社区居委会。[1]
交通[edit]
村前的东江南支流上，每天都有大小货船往来。1997年，村里建成了曲海混凝土大桥，方便村民出入。[1]
