金泰社区位于东莞市万江街道西南侧，靠近东江南支流，北与牌楼基社区相接，西与曲海社区为邻，隔江与万江、莞城两地相望。社区名字是1963年两个大队合并时，各取一字拼成的。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1960年之前，金泰大队曾辖八个自然村。此后大队几经分合，在1960年一度分为四个，1963年又归为一个。之后曾设乡、改管理区，1999年改为村委会，直到2005年村改居，定名金泰社区居委会。[1]

名胜[edit]

社区内的金鳌洲塔是明代建造的八角九层楼阁式砖石塔。它于1989年6月被公布为广东省文物保护单位。[2][3]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，社区获评2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
