滘联社区在东莞市万江街道北部，位于东江南支流与高埗河、芦村河会合的一带，三面环水，与谷涌社区相连。社区名字中的「滘」字，在本地指水道交汇的地方。[1]
地名与历史[edit]
博雅地名网说明，「滘」在粤语地名中多用于两条水道相通、或分叉后又汇合之处。1957年调整区划时，原属高埗镇芦村的数个「滘」字头村落，以高埗河为界，河南一侧的几处合在一起，因取「联合」之意定名为滘联。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2023年11月，社区入选「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村名单。2024年1月，它获评2023年度广东省民主法治示范村，同年4月又进入广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村的创建名单。[1]
