谷涌社区位于东莞市万江街道西部，沿107国道一带展开，社区内保存有谷涌庾氏宗祠等清至民国时期的祠堂。村名的由来与一个关于白鹤衔谷的传说有关。[1][2]

地名与历史[edit]

村民于明天启二年（1622年）自茶山迁至此地。传说明末天旱，庄稼歉收，忽有白鹤衔着谷穗落在河涌边，当年竟获丰收，村名因此而来。[1]

新中国成立后，此地先属第四区，1953年归中堂乡，1959年划归万江大队。1983年改设谷涌乡，1987年改为谷涌管理区，1999年改称村委会，2005年定名谷涌社区居委会。[1]

文物建筑[edit]

谷涌庾氏宗祠、耕读祖祠和耕乐祖祠都在沿河路一带，年代为清至民国。2012年，三座祠堂一同被纳入第九批市级文物名录。[2]
