地名由来[edit]
据传明洪武元年（1368年）村子开基，初名白鸠窝，后又叫百家窝。到了清末，白鸠窝学塾出身的探花陈伯陶回乡，觉得「白鸠」与「拔蛟」读音相近，又是自己求学的地方，便建议改为拔蛟窝。[1][2]
行政沿革[edit]
1987年以前，村下辖八个自然村。1987年12月，村中拆分出拔蛟窝、黄粘洲、蚬涌三个管理区，莫屋新村则并入莫屋管理区。1999年改称拔蛟窝村，2005年改为社区居委会。[1]
文化遗存[edit]
社区内的陈氏大宗祠与元信陈公祠，两座都在2012年纳入市级文物保护名录，属于第九批。村中以陈姓为主，另有曾、骆、尹、李等姓氏。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2024年11月，社区被确定为2024年广东省「美丽庭院」特色村。[1]
