同沙社区面积4.6平方千米，位于八一路与环城路的交汇处，南面是同沙生态公园，北靠虎英郊野公园。[1][2][3]

社区所在的同沙村，据博雅地名网宋朝时已经立村，1934年成立同沙乡。同沙水库位于该村一带。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，同沙在宋朝（1047－1322年）已立村。1934年设同沙乡，1949年属东莞县第二区，1953年归第一区，1957年属篁村大乡，1958年成为同沙大队，隶属附城公社。1984年改为同沙乡，1987年为管理区，1998年为村委会，2005年村改居，成立同沙社区居委会。[1]

至2016年，本地登记在册者630户、共2473人，另有外来人口约8000。据载社区有十条自然村，2013年经济组织统筹后，原来的10个经济社改为经联社分社。[2]

企业六十多家，多集中在鞋业、五金、手袋、织带、包装纸品与塑料制品等行业。[2]

自然环境[edit]

同沙生态公园在社区南面，百度百科称其面积4000公顷，2006年5月开园。同沙水库位于黄沙河上游，黄沙河为寒溪的分支，归东江水系，1960年建成。[3][4]
