主山社区成立于2001年。社区与东城的世博商业圈相邻，离市行政中心区较近，面积达8.7平方千米。[1]

社区内的乌石岗黎氏宗祠与主山黄氏宗祠均于2012年11月列为第九批东莞市文物保护单位。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，唐朝末年立村。到1952年，这里设为主山乡；此后1953年并入东莞县第一区，1957年列入罗治乡，1958年转为主山大队。1984年又成主山乡，1987年为管理区，1998年成立村委会，2005年村改居，成为主山社区居委会。[1]

社区概况[edit]

社区内设13个股份经济合作社，据博雅地名网，常住人口约6211人，而外来人口已超过3万。[1]

社区有9座农贸市场、5个群众休闲公园，还有2所公办小学和18所幼儿园。[2]

文化遗产[edit]

主山黄氏宗祠建于明清，乌石岗黎氏宗祠的年代为明至民国。这两座宗祠于2012年11月入选第九批东莞市文物名录。[1][3]
