峡口社区位于东城区东北部，在东江东岸，榴花塔之下。总面积1.67平方千米。登记在册的户籍居民有1229人，外来的新莞人约5000。[1][2]

社区内的熊飞将军墓是东莞的历史文化古迹，社区也是宋代抗元英雄熊飞的故乡。榴花塔位于社区所在的铜岭山上。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，峡口在南宋已有村落。1952年设峡口乡，1953年归东莞县第二区，1958年成立峡口大队，隶属附城公社。之后1984年为乡，1987年为管理区，1998年成为村委会，2005年村改居，成立峡口社区居委会。[1]

社区概况[edit]

社区由5条自然村组成，设沙岭和榴花两个工业区。在工商主体方面，外资企业10家，私营企业132家，另有个体工商户221户。[2]

历史与古迹[edit]

博雅地名网记载，社区曾是东莞军民抗击日军入侵华南时的前线据点，“榴花之战”即在此打响。[2]

榴花塔为明万历年间所建的八角七层砖塔，百度百科称其位于峡口村铜岭山巅，高39.75米。[3]
