温塘社区位于东城街道东部，面积11.6平方千米，社区内有22个股份经济合作社，居民以袁姓为多。[1][2]

这里也是东城革命旧址较集中的地方，有袁振英故居与中共东莞县委机关旧址等遗址。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年这里是东莞县第五区的温塘乡。之后历经大队、革命委员会、乡、管理区等称谓，1998年改为村委会，2005年村改居，称社区居委会。[1]

社区概况[edit]

博雅地名网载社区共有2421户，常住人口5万多人，其中本地常住人口1万多人，外来人口4万多人。社区两级厂房出租面积逾200万平方米，主要产业为制衣、电子、瓷砖、造纸、印刷、玩具、食品、家具与鞋业，企业约495家。[2]

文化与革命遗迹[edit]

袁振英故居位于茶中村南边路，他1894年出生在这里，1979年去世；他早年在北京大学读英文门，参与新文化运动。[3][4]

中共东莞县委机关旧址建于1940年，属第十一批东莞市文物名录，列入时间为2018年10月。社区内还有中共东莞二线县委与县特派员的机关遗址。[3]

温塘文阁为清代建筑，2012年列入第九批东莞文物名录；温塘革命烈士纪念碑建于1966年，纪念抗战与解放战争中牺牲的本乡烈士，2002年在附近另建陵园。[3]
