历史沿革[edit]

村名由村委会取老赤冲和良塘两村各一字而成，博雅地名网称由此得名赤塘。[1]

1999年定名为赤塘村村民委员会，此前经历了互助组至管理区的各个阶段。[2]

2019年9月，赤塘村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。2021年9月，赤塘村入选「第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」，主导产业为澳洲淡水龙虾。[1]
