村名因村委会位于巾峰山山腰而定。1999年定名为半岭村村民委员会，2005年深水洞村委会并入。[1]

典型村与基础设施[edit]

2025年初，半岭村与巾峰村完成典型村考核验收，同年村内各村小组的人居环境建设项目已完工。[2]

2026年1月，半岭村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

2025年12月，连州镇半岭经济联合社委托镇「三资」交易服务中心，就村委会屋顶一座96.8千瓦（峰值）分布式光伏发电项目进行协议交易，预算30万元。[3]
