燕喜社区是连州镇下辖的主城区社区，社区名称源于燕喜亭。[1]

名称的来历[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区因燕喜亭而得名。亭始建于唐贞元十三年（797年），是吏部员外王宏中在贬谪连州时所建，韩愈为之命名并撰写《燕喜亭记》；道光二十六年（1847年），戴熙手书的《燕喜亭记》刻碑置于亭中。[1][2]

燕喜山也因韩愈作《燕喜亭记》而得名。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年8月，燕喜社区被定为创建单位，名称为「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
