城下村是黄花镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域西部和西南部，与明迳墟镇相接，由原克岩、城下、坑坝三村合并而成[1]。村内辖45条自然村，耕地平坦，水源充足，大量种植反季节蔬菜，产品远销香港和深圳[1]。

地名由来[edit]

建国前，此处以土墙分隔为两个村，墙内称城内村，墙外称城提村。后将城提改称城下，故名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1952年设城下乡，1958年改称城下大队，归明迳公社。1986年起为城下村委会，隶属明迳乡；1998年10月改称城下村委会，延续至今。2004年12月，坑坝、克岩两村委会并入本村[1]。

荣誉与发展[edit]

2023年5月，团结村、克岩三村、光明村三个自然村获得「2022年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。2024年，城下村被列为典型村，继续开展创优创先工作[2]。2026年1月，城下村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
