近年来，33个村民小组已解决通电、通有线电视和通电话的问题，村道基本实现水泥硬底化[1]。社区种植砂糖桔的面积达6500多亩，形成「一乡一品」的特色产业[1]。

2019年9月，城樟社区列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]。2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予城樟社区「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号[1]。2023年5月，寨下村、大伙岭村、粗石坑村被评为「2022年广东省卫生村」[1]。2026年1月，社区获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村[1]。
