共耕村在横石塘镇北部，离镇政府约2公里，有人口3056人，下辖24个自然村。[1]该村于1998年10月改设村委会。[1]2019年9月，村子列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

共耕村耕地约2450亩，是粮食主产区。[1]此外种有蚕桑、沙糖桔、麻竹笋等经济作物，并制种玉米。[1]

2021年9月，共耕村以霸王花入选「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，列在第二批名单上。[1]
