维塘村在横石塘镇东北部，离镇政府约4公里，有人口2014人，下辖15个自然村。[1]村子最初因大部分房屋环绕一座大山岭而建，被叫作围岭；后因村旁鱼塘较多，“围”与“维”谐音，改称维塘。[1]

建置[edit]

1998年10月改设村委会。[1]2019年9月，村子列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

村口小果园[edit]

村口原有一片多年荒废的坡地，碎石、杂物堆积。2026年，驻镇帮扶工作队与村委会将其改造为小果园，种上葡萄，装了遮雨棚与水肥一体化设施。[2]建设资金20余万元，来自消费帮扶渠道及一名企业家的出资。[2]2026年5月的报道称，设施农用地审批仍在办理中，项目预计每年为村集体增收5000元以上。[2]
