下石太社区是下太镇的镇政府驻地，官方文件称下太居委会，博雅地名网称下太社区。社区面积约1189公顷，下设三个自然村，分成10个村民小组，共2015人（博雅地名网，未注年份）。[1][4]

「石太」为生僻字，读dài。因处山坑下游，取其谐音定名。[3]

社区农业人口约占总人口的七成。耕地约1556.6亩，山林约12685亩，每年可向市场供应林木约700立方米，稻谷年产七百多吨（博雅地名网，未注年份）。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，下石太社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
