鸡蓬村是英德市大湾镇下辖的行政村，位于镇西北部，离镇政府约15千米。村委会设在钟鼓圩，全村辖36个自然村。[1]

村名的来历是：清末有一户人家在后山坳上搭棚饲养鸡，地名因此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地属大湾蕉岗乡。1959年，此处为大湾公社的鸡蓬大队。青坑于1981年自大湾析出，鸡蓬随之归青坑公社。1983年设鸡蓬乡政府。1998年10月7日才改设鸡蓬村民委员会；在此之前，1990年它已是青坑镇的管理区，更前的1986年属青坑乡的管理区。[1]

鸡蓬村入选第二批「国家森林乡村」，该名单由国家林业和草原局在2019年12月公布。广东省爱卫会于2021年12月把「2021年广东省卫生村」称号授予该村。[1]

经济[edit]

村里耕地以旱地为主，土壤贫瘠，属石灰岩地区，是省定贫困村之一。博雅地名网记人口4936人、耕地2708亩，未注年份。[1] 镇政府2023年的工作总结称，鸡蓬农村供水保障工程正在积极筹备。[2]
