古道村是英德市大湾镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区东北部，离镇政府约7千米。博雅地名网记村总人口6339人，辖43个自然村。[1]

村名的来历与明代人物黄秀裳有关。据博雅地名网所载，黄秀裳（1512年至1554年）于明嘉靖十二年官封北京东城兵马指挥，其家乡因此被赐封为「古道名乡」，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1998年10月7日改设古道村委会。此前为1990年的古道管理区、1986年的村委会，1983年改设古道乡政府；再往前，1968年改称新道大队，1958年为古道大队。[1]

古道村入选第六批「广东省古村落」，名单于2019年3月发布。以茶叶入选首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村的时间为2020年8月。[1] 广东省爱卫会于2021年12月把「2021年广东省卫生村」称号授予该村。[1]
