茅塘村是英德市大湾镇下辖的行政村，位于镇西北部，离镇政府约6千米。村委会设在含阳公路边的龙井自然村，全村辖28个自然村。[1]

2026年1月，茅塘村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1998年10月7日改设茅塘村委会，沿用至今。此前1990年为茅塘管理区，1986年为村委会，1983年设茅塘乡政府，1958年为茅塘大队；更早则在1952年成立茅塘小乡。[1]

2019年9月，茅塘村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。广东省爱卫会于2021年12月把「2021年广东省卫生村」称号授予该村。[1]

经济[edit]

村里耕地广阔平坦，是粮食主产区；农业结构调整后，以水果和蚕桑种植为主。博雅地名网记人口5190人、耕地4600亩，未注年份。[1]

2023年，因年轻村民外出务工、部分耕地撂荒，村党委书记带领村干部和村小组组长集中整治撂荒地。同年3月起，村里在示范田上除草翻耕，选种美香巴粘米，前后4个多月，8亩撂荒地收获成了稻田。[2]

2024年3月，村里的乡村绿化工作以党员带动，由村“两委”干部包抓各村民小组，计划种植500棵苗木。[3]

2025年12月19日，英德市人民政府批准《英德市大湾镇茅塘村村庄规划（2025-2035年）》，规划范围约17.49平方千米。其中，永久基本农田的保护下限为471.0986公顷，村庄建设边界为82.6028公顷。[4]
