新潭村是广东省清远市英德市白沙镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的西部，距镇政府约11公里，辖14个自然村[1]。村名的来历是：唐代中叶，邓氏族人迁居立村；村旁水潭原名“潭头”，建国后方改为新潭[3]。

历史沿革[edit]

1957年办起新潭高级社，次年成为生产大队；1983年为乡政府，1986年改为村委会，1990年又成管理区，1998年10月7日重新定为村委会[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，新潭村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的名单之中[1]。2022年1月，省乡村振兴局把新潭村定为2021年「广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位[1]。
