英城街道属广东省清远市英德市，处在英德市中部，位于北江中游西岸。它的东边以北江为界，邻接大站镇；南边挨着连江口镇；西边与石灰铺镇相连；北边为横石塘镇，望埠镇则隔着北江。[1][3]

街道辖6个社区、6个行政村。前身是英城镇，2004年6月由镇改为街道。[3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

西汉高祖年间（前206年至前195年），浈阳县的县城就在这一带，后来这里长期做州、府、路、市的治所，英城的名字由此而来。博雅地名网的说法是：历代为英德的州府路县市所在，建城的历史很早。[3][4]

清代，这里设有附城乡、麻寨乡、廊岩乡和洋高乡。1949年10月9日县城解放，此后全县划分为英东、英西、英中三个区，城厢乡属于英中区。[4]

1958年4月，这里设英城镇与附城乡；同年9月，全县建为6个人民公社，英城人民公社辖有大站、附城一带。1983年撤销人民公社，改设区，英城镇与附城区分立；1986年附城区并入英城镇。[4]

2003年8月，碧落洞宝晶宫文化旅游管理区划归英城镇管辖，次年6月改镇为街道。[4]

地理环境[edit]

地势西高东低，多为丘陵，北江沿岸有小片平原，属于亚热带季风气候。[1][2]

人口[edit]

第七次全国人口普查结果于2021年6月公布，英城街道人口为24.44万人，在英德市各街道乡镇中排第一。[3]

百度百科载2020年常住人口15.67万人。两个数字的统计口径均未见说明，此处并列，未作取舍。[1]

经济[edit]

据街道2025年工作总结，农业总产值为3.21亿元；截至11月，地方总收入9336.02万元，固定资产投资12.12亿元，规模工业产值25.5亿元。[5]

特色农业以天顺鸽业、富桂渔业等为主，总结称其2025年产值超过1.3亿元。[5]

2013年的数据显示，街道规模以上工业的产值为53.98亿元，而农民人均纯收入达9144元，相比上一年提高了12.4%。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

宝晶宫在英德市区南郊约7千米的燕子岩山，景区占地约12平方千米，级别为国家4A级，内有溶洞、温泉酒店、极限运动项目与研学基地。[7]

行政上，宝晶宫位于南山社区；街道正推动其创建国家5A级景区。[5][6]

功垂捍御牌坊在城西社区白楼村西庙前，建于清同治十年（1871年），3间4柱5楼，用花岗岩砌成。2008年，它被列入广东省文物保护单位名单。[3][8]

2026年，12个村（社区）党组织书记逐一汇报本村（社区）的五年发展计划，内容涉及闲置资源盘活、特色产业、民生改善和基层治理。[6]

长岭村完成了第二批典型村的初验。[5]

2026年7月，城西社区党委获得清远市颁发的「清远市先进基层党组织」称号。[9]
