大竹湾村是涡水镇下辖的行政村，位于镇最北部，距县城约5公里，距镇政府约22公里。村中分为两个村民小组，即小横龙与沙田。户籍人口421人（年份未注明），耕地约184亩，据百度百科。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

村史始于1950年设立的大竹湾行政村，初期隶属军寮，几经改为乡、又改为村。1958年成为大竹湾大队，归军寮公社；1970年有一部分居民迁往沙田村一带。1974年起该村属涡水公社。八十年代，它先是大竹湾乡，1987年改为村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1999年又复为村民委员会。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

国家民委把小横龙村列为「第二批中国少数民族特色村寨」，时间为2017年3月。另在2020年12月，本村名列广东省民族宗教委发布的「第一批广东省少数民族特色村寨」名单。[1][3]

省爱卫会在2023年5月授予小横龙村和沙田村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。2026年1月，本村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1][3]

自然环境[edit]

横龙水库位于涡水河的大竹湾段。村里大力发展农业经济作物，是全县的蚕桑基地之一。[1]
