必坑村是涡水镇下辖的行政村，位于镇中北部，距镇政府约13公里。据博雅地名网，村委会下辖7个小组，人口1462人，耕地255亩。村内矿产资源丰富，发现过多种稀有金属。[1]

村里大力发展经济作物，油茶和蚕桑是主要产业，据载是镇内主要的油茶和蚕桑基地。村境的土壤与水源条件较好，森林与中小水电站也较为集中。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村史始于1950年设立的必坑行政村。此后数年间，它先后作为乡、村的建制，又在1958年成为大队；1973年底前归军寮公社管辖，次年划入涡水乡。八十年代初复称乡，1987年变为村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1999年再回到村民委员会。[1][2]
