梅洞村位于福堂镇西北部，距镇政府驻地约13公里，西面与广西大宁镇相连。[1] 村名因驻地在梅洞圩而得。[1] 村内人口1885人，均属少数民族，村民多姓郭、韦、杨、覃、贤、谢、梁。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年9月这里称梅洞乡，1958年10月改为梅洞大队，1983年政社分设后仍为梅洞乡，1986年改为村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年再度称村委会。[1]

人口与产业[edit]

村委会辖9个自然村，包括郭屋、韦屋、杨屋、覃屋等。[1] 耕地5113亩，粮食作物种在3170亩上，经济作物占1943亩。[1] 村民主要靠水稻与生姜为生，副业是木材与家禽、家畜养殖。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年8月，首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单公布，梅洞村位列其中，入选产业为梅洞大肉姜。[1] 2023年4月，村庄列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[1] 2023年5月，广东省爱卫会授予谢屋村、塘凤村、文贵村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
