太平洞村位于秤架瑶族乡北部，距乡政府驻地约40公里，北面与湖南省宜章县莽山交界，东面为乳源县，全村面积约103.05平方千米。广东第一峰石坑崆位于本村辖区内。[1][3]

全村平均海拔约1200米，村辖区内有海拔1902.3米的石坑崆，即「广东第一峰」。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1940年设保，此后经乡政府、生产大队、管理区等阶段，1999年3月改为村委会，沿用至今。[2]

1966年，太平洞连同大坳一并划给乳源林业局，三年后（1969年）归还本乡。[2]

荣誉[edit]

太平洞村在2019年底进入首批国家森林乡村的名单；同年9月，省文化和旅游厅把它认定为首批「广东省文化和旅游特色村」。[1]

产业[edit]

村民种植水稻、蔬菜和茶叶等，土特产有笋干、灵芝、山茶和冬菇。[1]

据百度百科，村内引入第一峰茶加工厂，打造了约5000亩茶叶种植基地；经“百千万工程”改善村容后，发展民宿、农家乐32家。[4]

村内已开发小水电站8座，装机容量6万千瓦。珍稀动物有野兔、野猪、黄猄和熊等，珍稀植物有红豆杉、福建柏、广东松和铁杉。[1]
