炉田村位于秤架瑶族乡北部，距乡政府驻地约12公里，北面临湖南省界防火线。全村面积约73.51平方千米，村委会辖10个村民小组。[1]

地名[edit]

地名一说因村委会附近旧时专门烧制火炉，故得名炉田。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1940年设保，此后经乡政府、生产大队、村委会、管理区等阶段，1999年3月改为村委会，沿用至今。[2]

古道[edit]

秤架古道的北端起点在炉田村一带，沿途有多处石刻。[4]

人口与产业[edit]

全村251户、1286人，其中少数民族1092人。村民以种水稻、玉米为主，兼种花生、木薯、生姜和黄豆。[1]

村内已开发小水电站8座，装机容量1万千瓦；山地面积约7866公顷，林业面积约6293公顷。[1]

村内地势高寒，平均海拔600米，村中可见熊、野猪、水鹿等野生动物，土特产有灵芝、木耳、冬菇和山茶。[1][3]
