地理环境[edit]

县道403线贯穿村域，周边分布有学发公祠、北山古寺等景点。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

建制变化与杜步镇其他村相同：1940年设保，1952年改为乡政府，1958年10月改为生产大队，1983年11月复为乡政府，1987年1月改为村委会，1989年11月改为管理区，1999年3月重回村委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2013年底，全村共721户，总人口3067人，劳动力1829人。[1]

经济[edit]

村民收入以种养和外出务工为主。2013年，农民年人均纯收入5819元，村集体经济收入12780元。[1]

2019年，湟川村是镇里淮山种植基地的所在村之一，同年镇里引进了淮山和葛根的深加工项目。[2]
